On a lighter note....
Someone sent me a picture of a custom M16 pistol grip that fits in with Tony McLeod's criteria. It doesnt retain the "practical functionality" or "much of the appearance" of a military pattern, free-standing pistol grip... so it looks like the Police should be OK with this one.
